Hi there, and welcome to my website!
I’m really excited to be writing my first blog!
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name’s Francesca, and I practice yoga wherever I am. I’m a certified yoga teacher, and I teach in various schools in Milan. I also organise retreats in Puglia.
My relationship with yoga
I’ve been practising yoga since I was a child. When I was on holiday, I used to practise with my aunt at dawn. I still remember those moments, even though I was quite young at the time.
As I got older, I stopped practising yoga because it wasn’t very common in the places I went. I’ve been involved in sports all my life, including swimming, artistic gymnastics, volleyball, dancing, horse riding, Pilates, tennis, windsurfing, sailing and skiing.
I’ve always enjoyed playing sports, but nothing has ever fully captured my attention and dedication.
I tried a few yoga classes in my teens, but I don’t remember being particularly interested.
After finishing my university studies, I decided to try out yoga. It was a time of transition in my life, when I was changing ‘skin’, going through many changes as I grew up.
I still remember that yoga class vividly. It was a real turning point for me. I remember feeling a real awakening of the body, sensations and emotions.
From then on, I never stopped practising yoga. I went to as many yoga classes as I could, practising several times a week, and even sought out yoga classes when I was travelling. Gradually, I found myself in a whole new world. A world of internal change, discovery and commitment.
I quickly saw that the practice had benefits that went beyond just the physical. It also gave me more energy, helped me manage my emotions, and brought me closer to my spirituality.
I’ve learned to practise in every moment of life, no matter how imperfect the moment, no matter what happiness or difficulty I’m facing. The practice helps me find my centre, look inside myself, balance, believe in myself and not judge.
So, it’s time to shift our focus from achieving a position to a spiritual path of growth and evolution. So, it’s time to shift our focus from achieving a position to a spiritual path of growth and evolution. I’ve been incorporating pranayama, breathing techniques, meditation, the study of philosophy texts and sound into my practice.
For me, yoga is a constant source of light that helps me find my way forward. For me, yoga is a constant source of light that helps me find my way forward.
A phrase I like very much: ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ Gandhi
Yoga is a way to change yourself from the inside out and spread that change to the people around you. Yoga helps you overcome your fears and limitations so you can focus on the real goal.
In my next blog, I’ll be sharing the story of how I got into teaching.
See you soon
Franci
